Scientists at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi are using state-of-the-art computer models to examine how storm surges, when combined with rising sea levels, may impact the Texas Coast, giving residents a better understanding of their vulnerability in a changing coastal environment.

Island University Researcher Co-Authors Report On Nation’s Largest Estuary

The Island University is proud to have a hand in a new study that shows how the reduction of excess pollutants like nitrogen and phosphorus are the cause of ecosystem recovery in the Chesapeake Bay. The study, which was published today in the “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,” could serve as a restoration model for Corpus Christi.
