Cafe con Leche Logo > Café con Leche: A Collaborative Initiative between Five Colleges
Houston Community College, Del Mar College, Dallas County Community College District,
St. Edwards University and Texas A&M University Corpus Christi all have a strong commitment to the success of underrepresented students. This is a statewide initiative dedicated to increasing the number of students who enroll and graduate from college. Our goal is to provide valuable information for both students and parents. We provide information about enrollment, financial aid, career counseling and job opportunities while in school and after graduation. For information contact: Dr. Manuela Gardner.

The Coastal Bend Science Fair (sponsored by the College of Education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and by the Department of Natural Sciences at Del Mar College) allows students (under the supervision of their parents and teachers) to explore the scientific method and then present their results in public using both posters and oral presentations. Participation is open to all Kindergarten through 8th grade students in the Corpus Christi and surrounding Independent School Districts, Private Schools and Home Schools.
Science Olympiad Logo > Corpus Christi Regional Science Olympiad
The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi College of Science & Engineering hosts a Science Olympiad Regional qualifying tournament to advance to State competition. Science Olympiad is a nonprofit organization developed to improve the quality of science education, increase student interest in science, and provide recognition of outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers. NOAA Logo > Environmental Cooperative Science Center (ECSC)
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Environmental Cooperative Science Center is led by Florida A&M University in collaboration with Delaware State University, Jackson State University, Morgan State University, Texas A&M University and the University of Miami. The mission of the ECSC is to educate a new generation of environmental scientists in the NOAA-related sciences.

Peace Corps or Graduate School? This program offers the best of both. Master's International (MI) has made available the unique opportunity of integrating a Master's degree in Fisheries and Mariculture with overseas service. After completing initial course work at TAMUCC and receiving a Peace Corps placement, students travel to their respective site and complete their assignment according to the needs and requests of their host country. Academic work grows from volunteer work.
National Spill Control School Logo > National Spill Control School (NSCS)
The National Spill Control School offers specialized hands-on training for those interested in the Oil Spill, HAZMAT, and Emergency Management industries. The NSCS is a part of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's College of Science and Engineering. The University's Gulf Coast location allows for year-round, hands-on training.

South Texas Rural Systemic Initiative Logo > South Texas Rural Systemic Initiative (STRSI)
The South Texas Rural Systemic Initiative works together with the Earthmobile to achieve the following objectives: to bring geoscience education to public middle school students in South Texas, to provide geoscience training to their science teachers, and to increase community awareness of geoscience issues.

Summer Undergraduate Research Focus Logo Summer Undergraduate Research Focus (SURF)
A Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program supported by a partnership between the National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense. It provides funding for undergraduate students from other institutions to spend a summer at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi working on research projects with faculty from the College of Science and Engineering.

Teacher Quality Grants Program Logo > Teacher Quality Grants Program
Current work includes the production of web-based professional development modules in the areas of mathematics and mathematics education. Funding for this work is provided by the Higher Education Coordinating Board through the Teacher Quality Grants Program, Title V and College Research Grants to produce college level educational materials such as The CELL Page: College Biology I and II , PATRONES: A Pattern Thinking Place: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (5-16), "Read, Think and Write": The New 3Rs (6-16) and "Lil-Wald Island" a Nursing on-line graduate course interactive module.
