Our History:
The Physical and Life Sciences (PALS) department traces its roots to the old University of Corpus Christi founded in 1947. PALS is a large interdisciplinary department which offers five undergraduate and four graduate degrees to over 1,200 students. We have a strong field emphasis and maintain our own fleet of four-wheel drive vehicles and small boats. We also maintain the Laguna Madre Field Station and the CITGO Observatorium. We are the only A&M System campus located in an urban setting. Corpus Christi is a city of over 300,000 residents. But paradoxically, our campus is located on an island next to one of the largest great wild areas in North America. Taken together, our combination of interdisciplinarity studies and physical isolation create a unique learning laboratory. We think you will find studying and living in South Texas to be the memory of a lifetime.
