Undergraduate Research Opportunities

 

We have opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in research under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Students are expected to work with a faculty mentor a minimum of 10 hours/week and to participate in other activities, such as professional development opportunities, seminars and workshops

Students receive:
A stipend of $80/week
A budget of $250/semester for research supplies
Travel support to present their results at regional and national meetings
Professional development opportunities

Criteria for acceptance:
U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Undergraduate currently enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester credit hours
Minimum GPA of 2.8
Completed application
Letter of evaluation from the faculty mentor agreeing to supervise the student in his/her lab

Criteria for continuance:
Work at least 10 hrs/week under faculty mentor
Attendance at professional development activities
Full time student with a minimum 2.8 GPA
Faculty mentor's recommendation
