Interests

Currently, research in my laboratory is centered on the biochemical changes in the red blood cell membrane and serum in fairly and poorly controlled diabetic patients relative to healthy control.

A number of other research areas in Nutritional Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry are also being conducted in my laboratory. Specific areas are: screening of plant crops such as dikanut (Irvingia gabonensis), sweet potato (Ipomea batatas), bitter leaf (Vernonia amygdalina) etc. for natural products, metabolic analyses of the effects of natural products in normal and disease states and the effects of phytic acid on metabolism in animal model orally exposed to different doses of cadmium.
