Updates from Alumni
2000s
Cassidy Johnson ’01 graduated with a bachelor’s in biology. She is currently starting her Ph.D. in biochemistry and cell biology at Rice University. Cassidy was awarded a NASA-Harriett G. Jenkins Pre-doctoral Fellowship.
Terry Overton ’01 graduated with a degree in mathematics. He was teaching drafting in the Valley and was the advisor for two student organizations. Now he is using his degree and experience that he obtained through the GEAR UP program in San Antonio.
1990s
Jason Morris ‘99, who earned a degree in environmental science, is working with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency in the division of solid and infectious waste as an environmental specialist.
Rene Flores ‘95 is working in the quality assurance department of a government subcontractor in San Diego, Calif. performing failure analysis on missiles, rockets, and fighter aircraft. He earned a degree in computer science from the University.
1980s
Antonio Planchart ’89 is currently professor of molecular biology at the Genetics and Bioinformatics College at Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory.
Charles Smith ’88 graduated with a degree in computer science and is president of his own company which provides information technology solutions and services in the medical field.
Patrick Hoermann ’83 is currently program manager for King County in Seattle where he manages financial assistance programs to help businesses comply with environmental regulations.
Bob Killough ‘81 worked for HEP Information Systems from 1976 to 1991, serving as director of retail systems for the past five years. He graduated with a degree in computer science.

1970s
Tom Adams ‘79 is an MD in Southwest Harbor, Maine, where he has worked for nearly fourteen years. For the past five years he has traveled to Paraguay and worked at rural clinics. Tom graduated with a degree in biology.
1950s
Charles Billings ‘55 is the retired president of Sendero Oil Company. He is the director of the Guadalupe Valley Telephone Corporation and an honorary member of the Texas Rangers.
