Remotely Operated Vessel for Data Logging Along Coastal  Areas

Researchers in the Department of Computing Sciences and the Division of Nearshore Research at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi have developed a remotely operated vessel (ROV) that can perform data logging along coastal areas.  The current design employs a robust and sophisticated control system and is operated wirelessly through a laptop.  The ROV has the potential of use in contaminated surroundings or military applications for automatic monitoring and information gathering where safety and security of human lives may be at stake.
