Blake Bodin: Bank of 1832: The Bank of 1832 was a corporate charter of the Second Bank of the United States. Although Congress approved the bank, Andrew Jackson did away with the second bank a week or so later.

Denmark Vesey (Joshni John) Was a former slave who got his freedom after winning the lottery in Charleston, South Carolina. He advocated the freedom of slaves and referred the Declaration of Indepence and the Holy Bible to make his arguments. He led a rebellion in Haiti but it failed. His conspiracy against the White men reflected the combination of American and African influences.

Hinton Rowan Helper- (Jared Garza) Was an American Southern critic of slavery during the 1850s. In 1857 he published a book called "The Impending Crisis of the South" which argued that slavery hurt the economic prospects of non-slaveholders, and was halting growth in the south.

Matthew Perry---- He took a naval fleet to Japan to negotiate a trade treaty. Japan wanted to adopt our impressive Western technology. We wanted resources like wood, water, food, and coal from Japan.

(Ryan Vrana) George Fitzhugh-southerner who published racial and slavery based articles that argued that slaves needed economic and social protections that slavery provided


Tecumseh - leader of the Shawnee Indians who allied with the British during the War of 1812 in an effort to reclaim indian territory from the Americans. Tecumseh was killed in 1813 during battle, after his death the Indian Confederacy quickly disintegrated. (Bobby Kymes)

Jay's Treaty: November 1794 representatives of the United States and Great Britain signed Jay’s Treaty, which sought to settle outstanding issues between the two countries that had been left unresolved since American independence. The treaty proved unpopular with the American public but did accomplish the goal of maintaining peace between the two nations and preserving U.S. (Stephen S. )

Patrick Meraz: (paternalist ethos): The north american slave owners use to presente themselves as the benevolent guardians of their slaves, with a moral duty to protect, christianise, civilise them.
