Prewriting and Primary Source Analysis
Activity #1-Primary Sources in Historical Research
This activity is designed to get you actively evaluating and assessing your primary source document. Also, this activity is designed to give you practice with articulating and defining terms commonly used in academic settings.
Please create a ½ to 1 page response to the following: Explain what a primary source is and how it is different from a secondary source. Why do historians rely on primary source documents? Explain how and in what ways your source is a primary source document. Be certain to provide a title, author, date of publication for the source.
As always, the information you present should be organized into well-developed paragraphs. Proofread your work.
This should be completed and turned in during class in Blackboard under content. However, I will set the due date at the end of the day.
