• Everyone get logged into your computers ASAP and open up a new Word document. In this document, write a brief paragraph that lets readers know what your topic is. Write a brief explanation of your topic -- whatever you know. Think of this as a bit of prewriting your Writing Project 3 - The Critical Analysis.

Habits of Mind

Round Robin with Research and Inquiry

  • What is Inquiry again?
  • Why do we use it in research?
  • Why do we use it as critical thinkers?

You will have one source review due on Monday. Here is a sample of one source review

  • You must follow the formatting that I provide on the Sample!
  • You must have an accurate citation with a hanging indent.
  • Your writing must be CLEAR and THOUGHTFUL. Critical thinking and engagement with the text must be readily apparent.
    • How can you make certain that your writing is clear and thoughtful????
      • This may sound cray, cray, but you must read the source carefully. Perhaps, you will need to read the source more than once.
      • You will need to think about the source by asking questions, taking notes, conducting research. The key here is thinking.
      • PROOFREADING is super important. Go over each sentence slowly. Read it out loud. If you find yourself saying "WTF" -- you better revise!
      • Be very, very careful to avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism is uncool and it is considered a serious academic offense.
