- Wed, October 19, 2016 - You are invited to the Power On Music conference on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Learn from leaders and legislators how Texas can transform into a major player in the economic driver of the music industry. The conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Center, Anchor Ballroom, and includes lunch, a keynote address by Mathew Knowles, Former Manager of Destiny’s Child and an after party concert at 7 p.m. at the House of Rock. Student Authors Celebration
- Fri, October 21, 2016 through Sat, October 22, 2016 - The Garcia Center will host series of sugar skull decorating workshops in celebration of the Mexican tradition, Day of the Dead, on Friday, Oct. 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop is open to the public of all ages. Children are free with a skull purchase by an adult. Cost for skulls range from $3-$6 depending on size, decorating materials will be provided.
