Welcome to Seminar!

  • Think of any experiences that you have had with a flat tire. How did the flat tire impact forward movement? What adjectives could be used to describe that experience?
  • What are the Seven Dimensions of Wellness?
    • Social
    • Emotional
    • Intellectual
    • Physical
    • Spiritual
    • Occupational
  • What types of activities or behaviors might evidence your wellness level in each of these dimensions? Let's brainstorm!
  • Using the growth mindset perspective that we discussed in the last class, let's do some self-evaluation on the seven dimensions of wellness!
    • Triad L Action Plan
    • Activity:
      • 1. Take 7 sticky notes and write the 7 dimensions of wellness.
      • 2. On each sticky note, provide a brief description of each dimension of wellness.
      • 3. On a blank sheet of paper, make 2 columns and label one “Satisfied” and the other “Not Satisfied”.
      • 4. Sort each sticky note into the appropriate column. List activities and behaviors next to each of your sticky notes that evidence your satisfaction or lack of satisfaction.
      • 5. On the back of your sheet of paper, make 2 columns and label one “Have Resources/Support” and the other “Lack Resources/Support.”
      • 6. Sort each sticky note from your “Not Satisfied” column into the appropriate column on the back. Brainstorm resources and support that might be available to you for the areas in your “Lack Resources/Support” column and write them next to the sticky notes.
      • 7. From these columns, choose the three dimensions of wellness that you view as most important and in which you would like to plan changes.
      • 8. Once your sticky notes are sorted, fill out the first section of your Action Plan called, "Where's Your Wheel?"
      • 9. Before you create your Action Plan, let's talk about SMART goals!
  • 10. Fill out the rest of your Action Plan!
