Norm Busting Workshop Day!

  • Today you have the opportunity to work on your norm busting project.
    • Remember that this project has several elements:
      • Field Notes
      • Norm Busting Video
      • PowerPoint Presentation
        • Introduction
        • Research Question
        • Hypothesis
        • Methods
        • Observation Evidence
        • Results
        • Conclusion
      • Group Evaluation
  • Make the most of your time to get your project ready to present to the class on Tuesday, October 11th! You will turn the following into Blackboard by Monday (10/4) at midnight- only one person needs to submit for the group:
    • Your rough draft...this could include: Field Notes, Video, PowerPoint Rough Draft.
    • A picture of your entire group (selfie of your group) working on the project together.
  • I will be in my office throughout class time to meet with any groups who have questions. I highly encourage each group to come and talk to me if there are any questions about their chosen norm to bust or the project expectations.

Announcements/Reminders!

  • Extra Credit Opportunity! Attend the Cisneros vs. CCISD Presentation on October 6th from 6:00-8:00pm on the second floor of the Library as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month festivities. Write up a one page synopsis describing your experience of the event and one new thing that you learned from the event, and turn your synopsis in on Tuesday (10/11) for extra credit!   • Sociology Exam #2 is less than three weeks away (10/18)!
