Self-Exploration: Habits of Mind

On Tuesday, we had conferences and you guys gave great feedback about what you wanted to learn!

  • Memorization strategies
  • Study skills
  • Improving focus & attention
  • Maintaining motivation

All of those things require that you first understand who you are as a student. Today we'll be discussing "Habits of Mind" and creating out own personal profiles. Each person will be different, and you will use these profiles in the coming weeks as we explore tips, techniques, and skills so that you can adapt those concepts to best meet your own needs as a student.

Suicide Prevention Presentation

We'll have a speaker come to the 12:30 class to present on suicide prevention. I know you will be attentive and participate to the best of your ability. This is a very important topic that could affect any one of you, so take notes, ask questions, and be informed.

If you think that you or another student may be in danger, speak up and speak out. Silence is deadly. You can always go to an instructor, the campus counseling center, or campus police if you have a concern. We're here to help!
