Begin assigning stories for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

  • March 22: Humanities Speaker Series: “Being Muslim – A Cultural History of Women of Color in American Islam”: Dr. Sylvia Chan-Malik, scholar of American studies, Critical Race and Ethnic Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies and Assistant Professor at Rutgers University, will headline the spring 2018 Humanities Speaker Series at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The Humanities Speaker Series, sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, will take place on Thursday, March 22, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the University Center, Anchor Ballroom. Chan-Malik will talk about her book, “Being Muslims: A Cultural History of Women of Color in US Islam,” which explores how Islam re-emerged within the African American community in the 1920’s.
