A. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Manages the day-to-day operations of Media Servicesí departmental business and office duties. Works within parameters of established time frames and funding deadlines. Provides quality customer service within a team environment.

B. DUTIES:

Under general supervision, manages departmental business and financial matters including generating purchase orders through Famis, travel, accounting, payroll, personnel transactions, work orders, and balances multiple accounts.

1. Major Duties: Performs responsible and complex support work by planning and coordinating departmental business duties, by facilitating the use of time and other resources to assist scheduling office activities. Also generates purchase orders through FAMIS, monitors and balances multiple accounts, assists with projects and reports, generates student wage projections, and hires and trains student employees for office duty.
2. Occasional and subordinate duties: The incumbent is required to perform various operational duties such as schedule appointments, answer phones, and questions, receives, reads, and disseminates mail, and performs other related duties as assigned.

C. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

1. Education required: minimum of three years of related experience requires an Associateís degree or equivalent specialized/technical training or college coursework in Business, Accounting, or related area. A Bachelorís degree in business or related field preferred.
2. Skills required:
a. Knowledge of word processors, spreadsheets, and databases,
b. Ability to read and interpret documents such as budget reports and financial records,
c. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence,
d. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and
e. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

E. APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS;

The most resourceful duties are the student wage projections and the ability to meet financial deadlines to serve the students of the university better. General duties include departmental financial duties, taking requests from faculty and staff, and ordering office supplies.

F. SUPERVISION:

The incumbent directly supervises three student employees.

G. EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT:

The incumbent is required to interact daily with campus community, which includes students, faculty, and staff.
