• Once you get into class, go ahead and open up OneDrive
    • Go to the In-Class Writing folder and open up the October 14 folder
    • Take a few minutes to reflect on how you think you did on the Chemistry Exam
    • Somethings to think about is the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
      • Good: What did you do that was helpful for you in the test?
      • Bad: What did you do that might have hindered your progress in studying?
      • Ugly: What will you never do again before a test?
  • After you are done, we'll discuss as a class some of the study habits that we found to be helpful, and also what was not so helpful
    • Make suggestions on positive study habits, and don't be afraid to discuss study habits you might need improvement on
  • After we discuss, I want us to take a look at a Sample Proposal

Gray, C. (1995). A proposal to review how geophysical precursors can help predict earthquakes. Retrieved from

  • This is only a sample, but look at the highlighted and colored words/phrase to see what they are doing in comparison with your own rough draft proposal.
  • Can you tell me what each highlighted and colored word/phrase means?
  • For Monday, continue working on the proposals, keeping in mind what we did in class today.
  • Also, continue working on the Discovery Research Logs
  • I will also be sending out a link over the weekend to a short anonymous survey for you to tell me how the semester has been going so far.
