Project Title: Blazon Promotions
Start Date: October 24, 2008
End Date: December 11, 2008
Project Administrator/Creator: Angela Curiel
I would like to introduce a new website I created for my home-based business, "Blazon Promotions." Owning a business is new to me and needed an inexpensive way to promote my services as well as my products.
The Blazon Promotions website http://blazonpromotions.homestead.com was created to reach a wider customer base and make our services available to them at their convenience. The site will hopefully attract new clientele by providing a brief overview of the services, samples of artwork and screen printing, along with promotional items we provide.
Developing the Site:
Developing the Blazon Promotions website was not easy and very stressful at times. Because I had no idea how to begin a website, I signed up for a two day course at Del Mar College for extra help. Unfortunately, I had to pay for the class, but I was able to get guidance so I could begin the construction of my site. This class directed me to a website template that allowed me to include pictures, topics, and change backgrounds.
Like mentioned earlier, I used a site template to build my webpage. However, I was limited as to the number of pictures I could include as well as the words. I did not feel I was given enough options to utilize some of Jakob Nielson's suggestions. Because the site consist of only five pages, the navigation is extremely easy.
I am pretty satisfied with my overall work on completing this project. Though the class is completed online, I had to make sure I structured my time accordingly and kept up with all assignments. If I had more time and more knowledge, I'm sure I could create a site that was more appealing to myself as well as my clients.
