Lih Andrew."wikipedia as a Participatory Journalism:reliable sources?metrics for evaluating collaborative media and as a news resoure study <http://journalism.utexas.edu/onlinejournalism/2004/papers/wikipedia.pdf>Conference Presented at 5th International Symposium on Online Journalism. The research article provided with the history and information in the beginning. It has developed a research model. It has taken another research model and applying it to a new topic.Conducted a study using quantitaive metrics. The article in the beginning provides the reader with a roadmap about the study.
The overview points on page 2 led me to think that i would be given the information in that order but that was not the case. However the information on page 1 did provided enough information about the content of the article.
Figure 1 was not referenced in the discussion prior to its presentation and the connection beteen the text and the info in the figure was not well presented.
He also looks at the how mentioning of article is related to other sources. He provides a good amount of history about the wiki, hiw they work and their use in social life. The methodology used is quantitive metrics which was quite confusing about what was that all about. He seems to be more concerned about the number of people using wiki.He does acknowledge assumptions and about his views about them.He uses a comparsion group in his study. It seems that the author has done a detailed study with the number for comparision in his study.Looking at the reliability of the project. Participatory journal speaks to the communications audiance.
