SGarza: Attendance

Attendance is very important to me as a teacher. If you are not in class I will not be able to interact with you and provide you with the information you need to be successful in the course. If you miss more than 3 class meetings (2 for summer, night and graduate courses) I will deduct up to one full grade from your final grade. I do this to allow for important things that come up, things you have no control over. This does not mean that you should schedule other appointments during class. I consider that disrespectul to both the teacher and the rest of the students in the class. If you do need to miss class, please let me know as soon as possible. Again, this shows respect on your part. Sending me an email right about the time class is starting is not respectful. And if you miss class it is your responsibility to find out what you missed and make appropriate arrangements to take care of what you missed. This does not mean that you simply ask me what you missed and expect me to make it happen for you. It is your responsibility, not mine.
