Project Description:
I accepted recommendations from the marketing consultant and CEO for the http://healthytapwater.com/ website. Based on the recommendations from the marketing consultant, CEO, and my own recommendations, I will upgrade, restructure, and implement changes to the site to better the overall functionality, usability, and convenience of the website.

Project Purpose:

  • Determine how well the Healthy Tap website attracts clientelle and defines the product along with its benefits
  • Provide useful recommendations to the Healthy Tap Marketing staff that will create a more user friendly/productive experience and will help the designer(s) better achieve the goals of the website
  • Execute recommendations in the upgraded Healthy Tap website and provide a professional, neat, colorful, organized website for the client

Client Consultation:
After consulting with the client, she is hoping to have a site that best represents Healthy Tap and its economical, health, and environmental benefits. She explained the items that are most important for the site:

  1. Fundraising
  2. Health Benefits
  3. Cost Effectiveness
  4. Environmentally Friendly
  5. Convenience
  6. Testimonials

I made some suggestions to best optimize the product such as more color, more pictures, and a more crisp, professional layout. We agreed that I would not change the main site as it is contracted with another company, but I will create a new site using the same content. The changes I make that best appeal to the client will be discussed with the client's marketing team. They will then make the necessary changes based on my work to make permanent implementations . The following is a list of implentations that we agreed upon:

  • Keep the Going Green page and Testimonials
  • Create a Recipe page
  • Remove cluttered wording on home page
  • Add more pictures and color
  • Create a clean/professional uniform site
  • Bold/Color headlines
  • Move menu bar to the left as opposed to the mid right of page
  • Remove unnecessary articles
  • Client will revise mission statement
  • Client will register with the Better Business Bureau
  • Client will create a service guarantee and refund statement
  • Create Disclaimer page

Current Implementations:
I have had a difficult time obtaining the client's logo and specific product pictures for my project; however, I have improvised and found appropriate pictures for the new Healthy Tap website. Although the new site is still a work in progress, I am including the url. Below is a list of current implementations:

  • found host for site on Microsoft Office Live Small Business
  • established website http://healthytapwater.food.officelive.com/
  • uploaded theme picture of glasses with pouring water as wel as other useful pictures for the site
  • created color scheme of ocean colors dark blue, light blue, sky blue
  • added recipe, company, FAQ's, testimonial, and disclaimer pages
  • moved menu from right side of site to the left and added menu bar at the bottom of the page

Challenges:
The client has had a difficult time sending the logo to me. For some reason it will not attach in her e mail.Currently, the new site does not display the actual Healthy TapTM logo. I have not yet figured out how to insert moving graphics or insert the testimonial video, but I'm determined to figure it out. I'm also limited in my font selection which cold cause my site to appear boring or monotonous, but I've added plenty of color and graphics to make up for the limited font selection.

Final Recommendations:
I will continue to work on the new site adding appropriate page and product descriptions as well as pictures and a testimonial video. I also hope to create a slide presentation and have moving graphics. I will try to obtain the Healthy Tap logo and product pictures for the new site.
