Braun, Linda W. Teens, Technology, and Literacy; or, Why Bad Grammar Isn't Always Bad. Westport: Libraries Unlimited, 2007.
This book discusses the notion that SMS language is a new literacy and that what we may often identify as poor spelling and bad grammar in student writing is actually evidence of technology reshaping literacy as we know it. At just over a hundred pages, it is a concise and convincing read.
