Elements to include in Portfolio to turn in for a second grade.

  • Introduction - include some type of introduction to guide the reader through your portfolio. This could be the intro paragraph for you Reflective Overview if you don't want to make it a separate item.
  • Reflective Overview - Include the following information about your Paper
    • Who are you talking to?
    • Who is participating in your discussion? Use the questions from the Summarize, Analyze and Apply exercises to help you, especially the Analyze questions.
    • How are you focusing/shaping the discussion? Again, use the questions from the Summarize, Analyze and Apply exercises to help you. especially the Apply questions.
    • What decisions about your Paper have you made as a writer as you have progressed from Portfolio One to Portfolio Two
    • Make reference to any of these Course Goals in your overview to show your learning process:
      • Understand and use writing and speaking processes of invention, drafting, revision, editing, and delivery
      • Specify audience and purpose and make appropriate rhetorical choices
      • Produce clear and coherent prose as adapted to purpose, audience and occasion
      • Understand the importance of practice and reflection
      • Read for a variety of purposes across the disciplines
      • Understand research as inquiry and integral to one's writing processes
      • Use critical reasoning for problem solving
      • Evaluate arguments analytically and creatively
      • Listen carefully, think critically and reflectively, and respond ethically during group discussion
      • Use technology to communicate and acquire information
  • Paper - For your paper include
  • Any other information you want to include that illustrates your progress in the class. But you should have a reason for including the information. Don't just put all of your work in just for the sake of having it in there.
