Habitat For Humanity - Corpus Christi
This is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. It works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. Volunteers provide most of the labor. NSTA volunteered in building one of their homes on September 30th. We had such a great time at this volunteer event that NSTA plans on volunteering for this organization again in the near future. Ronald Mcdonald House - Corpus Christi
This house serves as a haven for families who live too far away from the hospital to go home each night. It has 25 bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a large family room, a teen room, a small children's area, laundry facilities, and a quiet lounge.
The NSTA takes part in the Pop a Tab for Our House fundraisers that they hold. For this, pop tabs are collected and donated to the Ronald Mcdonald house. The house collects the tabs because of their worth which helps to allow families to stay at the Ronald Mcdonald House. To learn more about the Ronald Mcdonald House, please visit their website at http://www.corpuschristirmhc.org/index.html.

Barnes & Noble Gift Wrapping
Each winter holiday season, Barnes and Noble allows different organizations to accept donations as volunteer gift-wrappers.
This year, NSTA will be volunteering at B&N on TBA (all day). So, members, mark this on your calendar. As we get closer to December, we'll be having a sign-up sheet for two-hour shifts. We will need to always have two people for each shift.

Social Events
Fossil Dig
This fossil dig is held at Wright Materials, Inc. near San Patricio. There, the group is given the chance to learn about how scientists dig for fossils and are then given the chance to dig for some themselves. The members are allowed to keep the fossils that they find, unless they find one that is rare. The Wrights are generous enough to allow the NSTA to take part in this field trip at no expense to the group. This field trip will take place on TBA. For more Information click Here!!!
