Conducting an Interview:

1. Find someone in your family or whom you are close with who influences your life in some way, whether it is the way you dress, the way you speak, or even in establishing some of your personal values.

2. Set up a time where you can talk to them uniterrupted for a short interview.

3. Discuss with them the kinds of things we explored in your last freewrite - what qualities about them do other people see, what qualities would they like others to see, and what about them is influential in your shared relationship.

4. Write a short (1-2 page, double spaced) paper explaining the influences they have on your identity (your own perception of it and what you think other people see in you). Be sure to examine the way your discourse communities define the influences your interviewee has on you (family roles, work responsibilities, etc.)
