A Strong Reflective Overview:

  • Refers to each included artifact/piece of evidence individually and specifically, discussing what it is and why it is included
  • Introduces the reader to the portfolio by addressing self-expectations, an evaluation of success, and/or the general topic addressed in the work
  • Concludes with some assessment of the skills practiced in the completion of this work, as well as some sense of it's value for the writer's future work

A Weak Reflective Overview

  • Skips around/omits/glosses over some evidence/artifacts
  • Relies on shallow or general evaluations of the process of writing
  • Gives a distinctly false sense of the reality of the work (be honest!)
  • Addresses the audience inappropriately
  • Seems rushed and/or hastily composed
