Integrated Assignment should incorporate some kind of meta-knowledge.

  • Perhaps the P2 reflective overview could be utilized as a vessel for self analysis of their freedoms, as they have explored them in their image analysis/ creation project?
  • The typical portfolio project could be altered to fit this format while still allowing for research as part of the overall classwork.
  • The culminating project (P3) for my comp classes will utilize the research to construct an interactive wiki presentation that satisfies the written and visual components of the rhetorical practice they will have undergone for this semester.
    • The integrated assignment will help them accomplish this, not only by giving them practice with image analysis and construction, but by giving them the introduction to meta-knowledge that will be essential for the success of their understanding the role of writing in the virtual environment of the wiki site.
