* Theme

* Imagery
to:
* Stanza - "paragraphs" in a poem, the separation of lines (in groups)? Could be used to differentiate ideas or thoughts,

* Lineation - Stopping and starting of each individual line, to create rhythm or tempo or pace. Can help convey the impact or meaningfulness of the poem.

* Genre - A way to categorize works into groups. Protest could be considered a genre itself.

* Theme - Central message or idea that the author wants to convey to the reader/listener. Protest poetry probably demonstrates the protest in its words/language/etc. Protest poetry IS thematic.

* Imagery - Words or language used to describe the world the work takes place in, or used to help explain concepts that the reader/listener may not be familiar with or understand easily. Personal experience can be conveyed to people with different experiences more effectively by using imagery.
