Creative Writing Draft Development and Peer Review

Keys for Reviewing:

  • Style
    • What decisions did the author make about structure, grammar, word choice, literary techniques, etc.?
  • Genre
    • Did the author use traditional conventions? If so, were they consistent?
  • Content
    • Is it clear what the author is protesting?
    • Are symbolism or inference adequate for conveying the message?

Remember that this is a peer review. You don't need to tell the author what is wrong with their piece, so much as you need to ask why they made the decisions they made.
