Feedback for Proposal & Resume:

  • The Proposal grades have finally been entered into Blackboard. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding your score and I would be more than happy to provide feedback.
  • Dyad Only - The Resume was scored based on completion to minimum standards only. While I do not have time before the end of the semester to go line by line through each Resume, please email me directly if you would like specific feedback at any point after May 2nd. I will absolutely make time for every student who wants help!

Drop Date/Registration for Summer/Fall 2017:

  • April 7th @ 5:00pm is the last day to drop a course. I highly encourage you to visit the professors of classes you are considering dropping BEFORE you drop, and to speak with Financial Aid as well if your course load would drop below full-time. As always, I would be very happy to discuss your concerns with you, but your professors will have the clearest sense of your potential for success in their courses.

Seminar:

  • The Seminar Exam Review groups C & D must complete their Kahoot! questions by 8:00am on March 28th. Click on the following link for complete details: Seminar Exam Review
  • On Thursday, March 30th, Seminar will be held at the Dugan Wellness Center in the Izzy Room for a Meditation & Yoga class!
    • Adriana Dyurich, your Seminar professor from last semester will be leading us in a brief meditation exercise
    • Claire, an excellent yoga instructor, will be leading us in a fundamentals yoga class aimed at releasing stress. No prior experience with yoga is required
    • Come dressed comfortably! In flexible clothing.
  • Advising Conference - Please check the expectations for the assignment ASAP!

Advising:

  • In regards to the questions about the "pre-requisite/co-requisite'' requirement between Health Alterations and Pharmacology, here are the two viable options:
    1. You may take Health Alterations in one semester (Fall 2017, for example) and then take Pharmacology in a later semester (Spring 2018, for example) - The Nursing Program recommends this sequence
    2. You may take Health Alterations and Pharmacology together in the same semester
    • You may NOT take Pharmacology before Health Alterations

Seminar:

  • A panel of TAMU-CC Nursing students will be visiting Seminar on Tuesday, March 21st, to answer any of your questions and to lead a discussion with you about all things nursing! Please come ready to engage and make the most out of this opportunity.
  • The Final Proposal due date changed to March 23 @ 8:00pm.
  • Seminar will be held in Island Hall 265 on Thursday, March 23rd. Dr. Rachel Kirk will be leading us through registration to-dos for the Summer/Fall 2017.

Seminar:

  • The Proposal is due on Blackboard at 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 7th. This is a team assignment.
    • Please bring your laptop to Seminar next Tuesday, Mar. 7th. Your team will be better able to take advantage of in-class team work time to complete the Proposal.
  • The Student Nurses Association is having a meeting on Mar. 7th @ 1:00pm. Hope to see you there!
  • I am organizing a panel of current Nursing Program students to attend Seminar on March 21st. Please be thinking about the questions you might have for these students about their experiences and I will be collecting your questions next week!

  • Your Mid-Term Portfolio is due on Blackboard at 8:00am on Tuesday, February 28th.
  • Feedback and grades for the team Article Presentations have been posted to the Seminar Blackboard.
    • Inside the Seminar Blackboard course, click on "Teams - Research Discovery" on the left sidebar
    • Click on your team link, and you will find the Peer and Professor feedback documents under "File Exchange"
  • Please bring your laptop every Seminar class for the next two weeks. Your team will be better able to take advantage of in-class team work time to finish assignments.

  • For those teams presenting their Article Presentation on Feb. 23 (Thurs), make sure you submit by 8:00am that morning.
  • Please remember that your Mid-Term Portfolio is due Feb. 28 at 8:00am. You can complete the Team Agreement now, though completing the other two components may have to wait until after your presentation is complete and feedback is available to you.

Lona had an allergic reaction to an ant bite (check out her left hand!) and will be on the highest dose of Benadryl for the next 4 days. You may contact me by email if you need anything!
