Project Title: A Comparison of Artificial Neural Network Models for Predicting Tide Levels
Semester: Fall 2001
Committe Chair: Dr. Mario Garcia
Committee Member 1: Dr. David Thomas
Committee Member 2: Dr. Dulal Chandra Kar
Project Description: This project uses three artificial neural network models to predict tide levels. The input data was gathered and provided by the Conrad Blucher Institute's Division of Nearshore Research. The tide data was analyzed to determine what important variables and times would be used in making a prediction. The networks were then built, trained, and tested using the software "Neuralworks." The results of each network were observed, recorded, and compared.
