Project Title: Usability Testing Using Physiological Analysis
Semester: Spring 2007
Committe Chair: Dr. John Fernandez
Committee Member 1: Dr. David Thomas
Committee Member 2: Dr. Michael Scherger
Project Description: Because traditional measures employed in usability testing are inherently subjective, it is necessary to develop an objective method for evaluating the usability of a system. This project uses physiological analysis to quantify the ease of use of a Web site, specifically concentrating on the effect of color combinations on the userís bodily processes. Testing of the system reveals that there is a definite correlation between the results of physiological analysis and subjective user satisfaction surveys. Thus, physiological analysis results can be used in the place of contrived values to assess the usability of a system.
