Who is the WCRC?

The WCRC is a non-profit organization at TAMUCC. The club's focus is to provide students who show a special interest in the biology field with experience in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation through hands-on training, research, field, environmental and laboratory experiences and the continued education and outreach of and to the community.

Gulf Of Mexico's Sea Turtles
There are 5 species of sea turtles in the Gulf of Mexico. All are listed on the Endangered Species Act as either Threatened or Endangered.
1. Speices

Gulf of Mexico's Marine Mammals 1. Gulf of Mexico's Species
There are 29 species of marine mammals (whales, dolphins, and manatees) in the Gulf of Mexico. Not all species are found on the Texas coastline, but most have stranded at some point in history along the Gulf of Mexico's coastline. 2. Cetaceans of the World - updated 06-23-04
There are more than 80 species of cetaceans (whales, dolphin, & porpoises). Odontocetes are toothed "whales" that are comprised of 10 families, 40 genera, and 70+ species. Mysticetes are baleen whales that are comprised of 4 families, 6 genera, and 13+ species. 3. Archaic and Extinct Cetaceans
